The Senate considered President Biden’s nomination of Todd Kim to serve as the assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) at the Department of Justice (DOJ). ENRD is responsible for enforcing core environmental laws, handles cases related to tribal rights and natural resource protections, and advises the government on rulemakings that affect the environment. As a career attorney in ENRD’s appellate section, Kim received the DOJ’s Outstanding Performance Award and the EPA’s Gold Medal for Exceptional Service. He has served as the attorney of record in hundreds of lawsuits and has experience handling complex environmental issues. On July 27, the Senate confirmed Kim to be assistant attorney general for the Environment and Natural Resources Division by a vote of 58-41 (Senate Roll Call Vote 279). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
