The Senate considered President Biden’s nomination of Jennifer Granholm to serve as secretary of energy. The Department of Energy oversees the country’s energy, environmental and nuclear policy with a focus on transformative science and technology solutions. As Michigan governor, Granholm led policies that reduce pollution, accelerate clean energy, and promote environmental justice. Additionally, Granholm’s experience helping to rebuild the American auto industry during the last recession is invaluable as the Biden-Harris administration works to deliver a 100% clean energy economy.
