Highlighting the Need for Climate Action
Senate Roll Call Vote 317
Issue: Climate Change

Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) offered an amendment to S.Con.Res.14, the Budget Resolution for FY22, which would highlight the need to address the climate crisis through new policies that create jobs, reduce pollution, and strengthen the economy of the United States. Climate change is the existential crisis of our time - the International Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment deemed it “a code red for humanity”. As Congress considers the budget resolution in this pivotal moment, this amendment calls on Senators to declare that they support transformational investments in climate, jobs, and justice. On August 10, the Senate approved the Carper amendment by a vote of 51-48 (Senate roll call vote 317). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
