2024 Recent Vote
Representative Jefferson Van Drew (R-NJ) sponsored an amendment to H.R. 8997, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025, which would eliminate funding for the Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations. This program helps bridge the gap from Research and Development of advanced clean energy technologies to general market adoption. This office advances clean technologies and solutions that save families money on their energy costs and boost U.S. economic competitiveness and job creation for a variety of sectors. Getting more clean energy projects and technologies installed and running also advances our national security and energy security, reducing emissions of greenhouse gasses and other harmful pollutants. On July 23, the House rejected the Van Drew amendment by a vote of 145-273 (House roll call vote 377). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
