Representative Michael Conaway (R-KY) sponsored H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill, which includes harmful riders and attacks on conservation that would undermine safeguards for our health and the environment. H.R. 2 would jeopardize our waterways by eliminating oversight of pesticides applied directly on our waterways, cut around $800 million from critical conservation programs, eviscerate protections for endangered species, undercut our bedrock environmental laws like the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and more. With the addition of dangerous riders attacking the Tongass National Forest and the Clean Water Rule, H.R. 2 clearly places the interests of industry polluters above those of our families and communities. On May 18, 2018 the House rejected H.R. 2 by a vote of 198-213 (House roll call vote 205). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
