2019 Voto de la Tarjeta de Evaluaciones
Representative Buchanan (R-FL) offered amendment #133 to H.R. 3055, the Commerce, Justice, Science, Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, Interior, Environment, Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, 2020, which would prohibit the issuance of import permits for sport-hunted elephant and lion parts from Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. These impressive animals, considered vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), are threatened by hunting, poaching, and habitat destruction, and these countries in particular have not adequately managed their declining populations. On June 20, the House approved the Buchanan amendment by a vote of 239-192 (House roll call vote 380). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
