Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) sponsored H.Res. 987, the so-called Resolution Denouncing the Harmful, Anti-American Energy Policies of the Biden Administration, and for Other Purposes, which would put polluters over people by denouncing the critical progress the Biden-Harris administration has made toward combating the climate crisis, prioritizing the needs and voices of frontline communities, protecting our cultural and natural resources, and building a more just clean energy future. These include the administration’s efforts to reassess whether new exports of liquefied natural gas adequately take into account impacts to communities and our climate, to protect America’s Arctic, to balance conservation with extractive uses of our public lands, and to protect places from new mining and oil and gas drilling. This resolution would undermine the progress the administration has made on climate and conservation and perpetuate long standing environmental injustices.
