2017 Recent Vote
Representative Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) offered an amendment to H.R. 3354, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2018, which would restore funding to the EPA’s Environmental Justice Program. This critical and successful program helps low income and minority communities overcome the disproportionate impacts of exposure to hazardous pollution and environmental contamination that have historically plagued these communities. Though we are far from done addressing environmental justice issues, this program is essential to improving the health and quality of life for those most vulnerable. On September 8, the House rejected the Grijalva amendment by a vote of 190-218 (House roll call vote 473). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
