Obstructing EPA’s Cleaner Cars Rule
Senate Roll Call Vote 142
Issues: Transportation, Climate Change

Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID) sponsored S. 4072, a bill to prohibit the use of funds to implement, administer, or enforce the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) cleaner cars rules, also known as. light-duty vehicle standards for model year 2027- 2032. Tailpipe emission standards help to clean our air, broaden vehicle choices for consumers, and tackle the climate crisis. Sen. Crapo’s bill would undermine our ability to reduce vehicle pollution, the leading source of climate pollution, and spur domestic auto manufacturing. On April 18, the Senate rejected S. 4072 by a vote of 52-46 (6o votes were needed for passage - Senate roll call vote 142).  NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
