2023 Scorecard Vote
Representative Bob Good (R-VA) sponsored an amendment to H.R. 4368, the Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, that would cut millions in funding for the Department of Agriculture’s Office of Civil Rights. Civil rights offices at federal agencies are charged with ensuring fair and equitable treatment of employees and members of the public who interact with the government. The Department of Agriculture employs nearly 100,000 people at more than 4,000 locations and greatly influences our food system by supporting the agriculture industry, rural development, and conservation of our natural resources, investing in research and development, monitoring food safety, and overseeing nutrition and many other important programs. On September 27, the House rejected the Good amendment by a vote of 175-254 (House roll call vote 408).
