Representative Ryan Zinke (R-MT) sponsored an amendment to H.R. 4366, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, that would block expenditures to carry out Executive Order 14057: Catalyzing Clean Energy Industries and Jobs Through Federal Sustainability. This important EO directs the federal government to purchase lower energy intensive products and technologies, which will help create good quality, family-sustaining clean manufacturing and jobs in the U.S. while also reducing health harming and climate pollution. On July 26, 2023, the House approved the Zinke amendment by a vote of 222-212 (House roll call vote 378). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
