Anti-Climate Solutions Resolution
House Roll Call Vote 363
Issue: Climate Change
Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA) sponsored H.Con.Res. 119, which expresses the sense of Congress that a carbon tax would be detrimental to the U.S. economy. This resolution ignores the huge costs that unchecked climate change is already having on our families, our communities and our economy, costs that fall disproportionately on low-income communities and communities of color. This resolution seeks to stifle exploration of potential climate solutions and to further the interests of polluting fossil fuel companies. On July 19, the House passed H.Con.Res. 119 by a vote of 229-180 (House roll call vote 363). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE. The Senate took no action on this legislation.
