Limiting Military and Veterans’ Affairs Response to the Climate Crisis
House Roll Call Vote 377
Issues: Climate Change, Clean Energy, Other
Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) sponsored an amendment to H.R. 4366, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, that would block spending to implement Executive Orders that help reduce pollution, adapt to climate change, and improve the clean energy independence of buildings and installments. The amendment would limit the military's ability to prepare for and respond to the climate crisis at bases home and abroad, threatening our national security and the health and safety of military personnel. On July 26, 2023, the House approved the Roy amendment by a vote of 220-214 (House roll call vote 377). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
