Slashing Funding for Amtrak
House Roll Call Vote 449
Issues: Climate Change, Transportation
Representative Mo Brooks (R-AL) offered an amendment to H.R. 3354, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2018, that would eliminate Amtrak funding for the national network. In doing so, it undermines a critical and energy-efficient transportation mode that millions of Americans and businesses rely on to connect economic hubs. On September 8, the House rejected the Brooks amendment by a vote of 128-293 (House roll call vote 449). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
