Representative Frank Lucas (R-OK) sponsored H.R.1029, the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act of 2015, which would undermine the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board to provide independent scientific advice to the agency. H.R. 1029 would undermine the integrity of the Science Advisory Board by allowing industry participation on the board and making it more difficult for subject experts to serve on the board. H.R. 1029 would also impose new burdens on the board that would delay necessary public health and environmental protections. On March 17, the House approved H.R.1029 by a vote of 236-181 (House roll call vote 121). NO IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE. The Senate took no action on this legislation.
