Representative Rush Holt (D-NJ) offered an amendment to H.R. 3590, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act of 2013, which would allow the Interior Secretary to consider the effects of climate change when making decisions related to conservation and recreation on public lands. Through droughts, warmer temperatures, raging wildfires, and other impacts, climate change is already affecting lands and wildlife across the country. On February 5, the House rejected the Holt amendment by a vote of 181-242 (House roll call vote 39). YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE.
